Bratislava, 16th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, interacted with leading business and industry representatives from Slovakia, discussing opportunities to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting brought together leaders from diverse sectors, including railways, defence, automotive, energy, information technology and healthcare. Prime Minister Modi appreciated the growing business-to-business engagement between India and Slovakia and highlighted India’s recent reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business and creating a transparent, stable and investor-friendly economic ecosystem.
Inviting Slovak companies to deepen their engagement with India, the Prime Minister emphasised opportunities in infrastructure, defence, renewable energy, digital innovation, semiconductors, artificial intelligence and healthcare.
Business leaders expressed confidence in India’s economic growth and its vision of Viksit Bharat. They conveyed their interest in increasing investments, building technology partnerships and establishing joint ventures with Indian companies.
The industry representatives also welcomed the conclusion of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, stating that its implementation would create new avenues for business cooperation and investment between India and European partners.
The interaction was attended by representatives of companies including Tatravagonka, ESET, Grand Power Ltd, Penta Hospitals International, Matador, VUJE a.s., VIPO and other leading Slovak enterprises.
