Patna, 27th June: A court in Patna on Saturday extended the stay on the arrest of educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in connection with the coaching institute firing case, granting him protection from coercive action until the next hearing on June 30.

The case stems from a firing incident earlier this month after Khan Sir’s coaching institute was allegedly vandalised by a group of miscreants. His security guards are accused of opening fire during the incident, and Khan Sir was subsequently named in the FIR.

During Saturday’s hearing, the investigating officer submitted the updated case diary, following which the court deferred arguments until Tuesday.

“Khan Sir will continue to receive protection from arrest till the next hearing. The final arguments are expected on Tuesday,” his counsel Arvind Kumar Mouar told reporters.

The lawyer added that the case involving Khan Sir’s security guards, linked to the same incident, is also scheduled to be heard on June 30.

Mouar said Khan Sir has been cooperating fully with the police and investigating officers throughout the probe.

The court had earlier granted Khan Sir interim protection from arrest on June 9.
