Patna, 29th June: Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Monday began vacating her official residence at 10 Circular Road in Patna as the government-imposed deadline to hand over the bungalow came to an end.

Workers started shifting household belongings to the family’s private residence in Kautilya Nagar, while CCTV cameras and other installations were removed from the premises. According to RJD leaders, most of the family’s belongings have already been relocated.

Rabri Devi had been residing in the government bungalow since 2006, when it was allotted to her as the Leader of the Opposition. The residence also served as the home of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and remained the party’s political nerve centre for nearly two decades, hosting key organisational meetings and election strategy sessions.

The Bihar Building Construction Department had allotted the bungalow to Dairy and Fisheries Minister Nand Kishor Ram on May 27 and subsequently issued multiple notices directing Rabri Devi to vacate the premises. She has now been allotted House No. 39 on Hardinge Road in her capacity as the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council.

The bungalow is expected to be formally handed over to the new allottee after the completion of the shifting process.
