Bhopal, 30th June: The Madhya Pradesh government has promoted 2012-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Raghuwansh Kumar Singh to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, according to an order issued by the state’s Home Department.
The promotion has been granted against the 2012 vacancy year in the Level-13 pay matrix of the Indian Police Service, carrying a pay scale of ₹1,31,100–₹2,16,600.
Despite the elevation in rank, Singh will continue to serve at his current posting as Superintendent of Police (SP), Alirajpur, the order stated.
The Home Department said the promotion will take effect from the date the officer assumes charge under the provisions of the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2016, with responsibilities and entitlements equivalent to the cadre post of Deputy Inspector General.
The order, dated June 29, 2026, was issued in the name of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and circulated to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Director General of Police, senior state officials and other concerned authorities for necessary action.
