New Delhi, 3rd July: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday expressed deep anguish over the alleged theft of donations from the Shri Ram Lalla Temple in Ayodhya, calling for stringent action against those found guilty and urging the temple trust to strengthen transparency and governance.

In a statement, RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said the grand Ram Temple was built through the sacrifices and devotion of generations of Ram devotees, and the alleged theft had deeply hurt the faith and sentiments of the Hindu community.

Welcoming the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following a request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Hosabale said the investigation must be completed impartially and those found responsible should face strict punishment.

The RSS said the Trust should treat the incident as an extraordinary matter and take effective corrective measures to eliminate shortcomings in temple management and operations. It stressed the need for transparent financial systems, efficient administration and robust operational mechanisms to restore public confidence.

The organisation said the prevailing uncertainty surrounding the issue should end at the earliest through coordinated efforts by the temple management and the SIT. It expressed confidence that improved governance and adherence to transparency would reinforce the faith of millions of devotees.

The RSS also appealed to the Hindu community to maintain patience and restraint while cautioning against attempts by what it described as “anti-Hindu and anti-national forces” to exploit the incident to defame Hindu society and its institutions.
