Patna, 24th Aug: An Air India flight from Delhi to Patna suffered a suspected bird strike while landing at Patna airport on Monday morning, airport authorities said.
Flight AI 1741, carrying 164 passengers, reported the incident at around 7:44 am as the aircraft was preparing to land.
Following the incident, airport authorities conducted an inspection of the runway. Officials said all passengers were safe and there was no disruption to flight operations.
An airport official said bird strikes are not unusual, particularly during the rainy season when bird activity tends to increase around airports.
The official added that a committee conducts monthly inspections to monitor bird and animal activity in and around the airport. Reports are prepared after inspections to identify areas requiring cleaning and other corrective measures.
