New Delhi, 25th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday invited citizens to share their experiences of using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as the digital payments platform completed a decade of operations.
Recalling UPI’s launch ten years ago, the Prime Minister said it marked a major turning point in India’s digital payments journey.
Highlighting the scale and reach achieved by UPI, Modi said its decade-long journey was a matter of pride for every Indian.
“Tell me about your UPI experience and how it impacted your life,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X, using the hashtag #10YearsOfUPI.
UPI was rolled out in 2016 and has since become a key part of India’s digital payments ecosystem, enabling instant bank-to-bank payments through interoperable digital platforms.
The Prime Minister’s appeal comes a day after the government highlighted UPI’s rapid expansion over the past decade, including its growing transaction volumes, wider bank participation and international presence.
