Chennai, 5th Sept: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan released a commemorative postage stamp marking the 75th anniversary of Dinamalar at a function held in Chennai on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Radhakrishnan said Dinamalar has earned the trust of readers over the past 75 years by upholding the values of truth, patriotism and public service. He called upon the newspaper to continue serving the nation and society in the coming decades.
The Vice President recalled the contribution of Dinamalar founder T. V. Ramasubbaiyer, noting that an idea originating with one individual had grown into a large organisation through the dedication and collective efforts of successive generations.
Radhakrishnan said newspapers can earn and retain public trust only by standing firm against pressures and upholding higher values without fear. He said Dinamalar’s work over seven decades had established a strong bond of trust with its readers.
The Vice President also appreciated Dinamalar’s efforts to nurture the next generation through its ‘Pattam’ publication, which provides school students with content related to general awareness, language skills and scientific innovations.
He wished Dinamalar continued growth and success and said it should remain a touchstone of truth while contributing to the nation and society.
The function was attended by Chennai Regional Director of the Department of Posts Major Manoj, Dinamalar Group Editor Dr. R. Ramasubbu, publishers L. Aadhimoolam, Dr. L. Ramasubbu and Jayashree, R. R. Gopalji and other distinguished guests.
