Scindia Seeks Action After LNIPE Student’s Death

New Delhi/Gwalior/Guwahati, 12th Sept: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia has expressed deep grief over the untimely death of Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Guwahati, student Shruti Upadhyay and assured that justice for her family would remain a priority.
Taking note of demands raised by students of LNIPE Gwalior and Guwahati, Scindia spoke to Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and urged immediate action on the issues raised.
The demands include ₹50 lakh compensation for Shruti’s family and an impartial inquiry into alleged medical negligence and administrative lapses at LNIPE-NERC, Guwahati.
Scindia also sought an inquiry into the role of the concerned warden, particularly regarding allegations that necessary medical leave or treatment permission was not granted. He further called for appropriate administrative action concerning the Registrar of LNIPE, Gwalior.
Scindia said that if anyone is found responsible after a fair investigation, the person would not be spared.
He stressed that the safety and welfare of students must remain the highest priority and that accountability should be fixed wherever negligence is established.
The Union Minister conveyed his condolences to Shruti’s family and prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to her loved ones to bear the loss.
