New Delhi, 13th Oct: India Post and IndiGo have joined hands for a unique Digital Detox Campaign, encouraging air travellers to take a break from their screens and rediscover the personal touch of handwritten letters.
Organised on October 12 as part of Philately Day during National Postal Week, the initiative saw passengers on selected IndiGo flights receive specially designed Digital Detox kits containing postcards. The campaign aimed to revive handwritten communication and promote mindful use of digital devices.
Passengers travelling across Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai participated in the initiative. After writing messages to family members and friends, they deposited their postcards in specially placed India Post letter boxes at arrival airports for onward delivery.
The postcards featured iconic landmarks from the participating cities, adding a local touch to the experience. One passenger described the moment as an opportunity to write a postcard at 30,000 feet, finding time between the clouds and the quiet to put personal thoughts on paper.
The campaign highlighted how stepping away from screens, even briefly, can encourage mindfulness and meaningful human connections. Through the initiative, India Post reaffirmed the continuing relevance of handwritten letters in an increasingly digital world.
