New Delhi, 22nd Oct: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday criticised the Congress, citing a Fox News report that alleged links among organisations involved in protests across several countries, including France and India. BJP leaders accused the opposition party of being associated with an alleged “regime change plot”, while the claims remained unverified independently.
The report, titled Global Chaos Inc Grows to 101 Groups, claimed to have identified 101 organisations across 13 countries that allegedly coordinate, organise or amplify protests. It reportedly highlighted the role of Progressive International (PI) in coordinating messaging among demonstrations in France, Albania and India.
The Congress had not issued an immediate response to the BJP’s allegations at the time of reporting.
BJP Leaders Target Rahul Gandhi
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of promoting what he described as an “anarchy” model.
“Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is presenting a model of anarchy and ‘gaddari’ before the country,” Bhatia said, referring to the report. He also used the term “traitor” while attacking Gandhi.
Bhatia claimed the report described an international network of organisations attempting to destabilise elected governments. He characterised the alleged network as a “red-green ecosystem of protest”, claiming that the terms referred to communist and Islamic groups, respectively.
These assertions were presented by the BJP as its interpretation of the report and were not independently established in the information available.
BJP Cites Progressive International
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also referred to the report in a post on X, alleging that it exposed an “anarchy and regime change plot” involving the Congress.
Bhandari claimed Progressive International had coordinated common messaging across protests in France, Albania and India, with the alleged objective of acquiring organised political power through rebellion.
He further alleged that Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi had met representatives of Progressive International at 10 Janpath on April 10, 2025. Bhandari questioned whether the Congress had coordinated with the organisation during protests and demanded a response from the party.
The allegations about the Congress’s involvement and its purported links with foreign organisations were not independently verified in the supplied account. No immediate response from the Congress was reported.
