New Delhi, 8th July: Several key infrastructure projects in Delhi, including a Metro depot, police stations, healthcare facilities and university campuses, are set to move forward after long-pending land-related issues were resolved following a review by Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Officials said the review led to the clearance of multiple land allotments that had remained stalled for years due to coordination issues among government agencies.
Among the major approvals, 20 hectares of land at Sanoth has been allotted for a Delhi Metro depot, while 16 hectares at Narela will be used for a Metro casting yard. Land has also been allotted to the Delhi Jal Board for sewage treatment plants and pumping stations, along with 151 borewell clearances to improve water supply.
The clearances also pave the way for four new police stations at Dilkusha Bagh, Sagarpur, Suyurpur and Kishangarh, besides a Forensic Science Laboratory in Narela and Intelligence Bureau facilities at Dheerpur and Tahirpur.
In the healthcare sector, 112 No Objection Certificates (NOCs) have been issued for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and five for Atal Canteens. Land has also been allotted for campuses of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi Technological University and the Central Sanskrit University in Narela.
Officials said the approvals also cover waste management projects, including an E-Waste Eco Management Park at Holambi Kalan and the expansion of waste-to-energy facilities at Ghazipur, enabling faster implementation of key public infrastructure across the capital.
