New Delhi, 8th May: The Election Commission of India has published the Index Cards and Statistical Reports for the 2026 General Elections to Legislative Assemblies and bye-elections, marking the fastest release of such detailed poll data in the Commission’s history.

The reports covering all 830 Assembly constituencies that went to polls were uploaded within 72 hours of the declaration of results through the ECINET platform.

The Commission said the move reflects one of over 30 digital initiatives introduced during the past year to improve transparency, efficiency and public accessibility of election-related information.

A re-poll for the 144-Falta Assembly constituency in West Bengal is scheduled for May 21, 2026.

According to the ECI, the Index Cards contain detailed constituency-level data including candidate details, elector statistics, votes polled, votes counted, party-wise vote share and candidate-wise performance.

The reports are available through the ECINET App under the “Current Elections” section as well as on the official ECI website.

The Commission noted that before ECINET’s introduction, preparation and publication of such reports often took weeks or even months due to manual data compilation by field officials.

For the first time, the ECI has also simultaneously released 14 comprehensive statistical reports within the same 72-hour period.

These reports include state-wise and constituency-wise elector data, polling station details, voter turnout figures, gender-wise voting participation, party-wise vote shares and detailed constituency result summaries.

The ECI said the initiative aims to promote greater transparency and make election data more accessible to researchers, academic institutions, policymakers and the public.

The Commission clarified that while the statistical reports are prepared using secondary data from Index Cards, the final and authoritative records remain the statutory forms maintained by Returning Officers.
