Gandhinagar, 16th May: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Madhur Dairy Unit-2 Automatic Milk Processing and Packaging Plant in Dashela, Gandhinagar, on May 17 as part of the Centre’s push to modernise India’s cooperative dairy ecosystem.

The project is being launched under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Sahkar se Samriddhi” initiative aimed at strengthening cooperative-led economic growth and rural prosperity.

According to the Ministry of Cooperation, the fully automated dairy processing and packaging facility is expected to significantly enhance milk processing capacity and improve value realisation for milk producers linked to the cooperative sector.

The government said the initiative would strengthen the dairy value chain through advanced technology, quality assurance systems and efficient processing infrastructure.

Bhupendra Patel, Harsh Sanghavi and other senior dignitaries are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.

During the event, Amit Shah will unveil the plaque of Madhur Dairy Unit-2, visit the milk processing plant and formally launch operational systems from the control room.

Women milk producers associated with dairy cooperatives will also honour the Union Minister with a Madhur Dairy product kit, highlighting the increasing role of women in India’s cooperative dairy movement.

The programme will include the distribution of certificates to representatives of milk producer societies as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots cooperative institutions.

Officials said the new dairy unit would support cooperative-led rural development, create better livelihood opportunities for dairy farmers and help expand Gujarat’s modern dairy infrastructure.

The Ministry of Cooperation said the initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on technology-driven and farmer-centric reforms in the cooperative sector.
