Bhopal, 18th May: Messages sent by Twisha Sharma days before her death have surfaced, revealing signs of emotional distress, anxiety and a feeling of being “trapped”, as police continue investigating the case.
The 33-year-old woman from Noida was found hanging at her husband’s residence in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal on May 12.
Twisha had married lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025 after the two reportedly met through a dating application in 2024.
According to chats shared by her friends, Twisha had spoken about feeling anxious and directionless after marriage.
“I have been under anxiety because I am sitting at home. I want to do something with my life,” she wrote in a WhatsApp conversation dated May 7.
In another message, she advised a friend not to rush into marriage and said, “Shaadi ki khujli me shaadi mat karna. Soch samaj kar aage badhna.”
In a separate Instagram conversation, Twisha appeared more distressed and wrote, “I am trapped bro. Bas tu mat phasna.”
Her friends responded with concern and repeatedly asked about her wellbeing.
Following her death, Twisha’s family staged protests outside the residence of Mohan Yadav demanding a fresh post-mortem examination at AIIMS Delhi.
The family alleged that they faced difficulties in getting an FIR registered and accused authorities of delaying action in the case.
Twisha’s father Navnidhi Sharma and cousin Ashish Sharma alleged that the family had been running between police stations, commissions and government offices seeking justice.
According to a preliminary post-mortem report, the cause of death was hanging. However, multiple injury marks found on the body have raised further questions.
Police have constituted a Special Investigation Team to investigate allegations of dowry harassment against Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh.
The family has accused both of murder and expressed concern that their alleged influence could impact the investigation.
Officials said the probe is continuing and all aspects of the case are being examined.
