WASHINGTON – Iranian Embassy in India on Wednesday put a meme on X with another jab at US President Donald Trump. The timing is sharp. His Republican Party just had a rough election night.
One embassy grabbed a meme, a bin, and a very bold caption. The post spread fast, and the jokes kept coming. Behind the laughs sits a tense year of memes, oil prices, and global drama. Now everyone wants to know who gets the last laugh.
The embassy posted a meme of four people lifting Trump and dumping him into a bin marked “Hazardous Waste.” The caption was short: “The U.S. midterm elections.”
Americans voted on November 3 for all 435 House seats, 35 of the 100 Senate seats, and 36 governorships. That is a big night.
One big moment came in Maine. Five-term Republican Senator Susan Collins conceded to her Democratic challenger. Counting is still going, so numbers may shift.
History was not kind to Trump either. The president’s party loses about 28 House seats and four Senate seats on average in midterms.
This is not a one-off. Iranian embassies have turned X into a meme battlefield this year.
The India embassy has form. After a ceasefire was announced, it posted an AI image of Trump kneeling before a statue of a horseman waving Iran’s flag.
In April, Iran’s Mumbai consulate said Trump needed a “one-way cultural detox” after he shared a post calling India a hellhole. India called the remark uninformed and in poor taste.
In September, Iran’s embassy in Tunisia used an Akshay Kumar meme. It said elections were coming and asked Trump how it was going.
Behind the laughs sits a real conflict. Reports point to US and Israeli attacks since February and a blockade that has hurt Iran’s oil exports. Oil prices crossed $100 in September. That matters at home, because voters are sensitive to energy bills and wary of foreign entanglements.
