New Delhi, 19th June: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Friday said the Modi Government’s 12-year journey has been marked by equitable and transparent delivery of welfare schemes, ensuring benefits reached every eligible citizen without discrimination based on caste, creed, religion or vote-bank considerations.

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on the completion of 12 years of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh said the Centre adopted a saturation-based approach to ensure welfare benefits reached the last mile solely on the basis of eligibility and need.

The Minister said technology-driven governance, transparency and accountability have transformed public service delivery, enabling direct transfer of benefits to intended beneficiaries and improving the implementation of welfare programmes.

Highlighting the government’s social impact, Singh said nearly 25 crore people have moved out of multidimensional poverty due to sustained welfare initiatives and inclusive growth policies. He said improved access to housing, sanitation, healthcare, financial services, food security, clean cooking fuel and social security has enhanced the quality of life of millions of families.

He said the wider availability of basic amenities, digital platforms and financial services has enabled greater public participation in the country’s development process and strengthened social and economic inclusion.

Singh added that the government’s focus has been on empowering citizens rather than creating dependency, with an emphasis on efficiency, transparency and measurable outcomes.

He said the achievements of the past 12 years reflect the aspirations of the people and reaffirm the government’s commitment towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, with greater citizen participation expected in India’s journey towards becoming a leading global force in innovation, economic growth and human development.
