New Delhi, 11th Oct: The historic Jhandewala Devi Temple in Delhi is set to witness a major influx of devotees as the Shardiya Navratra Mahotsav begins on Sunday, October 11. The festival will continue until October 20, according to an announcement by the Badri Bhagat Jhandewala Temple Society.

The temple, a prominent Hindu religious centre in the national capital, is expected to attract lakhs of devotees from Delhi and other parts of the country during the festival. Worshippers will visit the shrine to seek the blessings of Maa Jhandewali and participate in the Navratri celebrations.

In a letter dated October 9, the temple society invited television news channels to cover the festival live, highlighting the religious significance of the occasion and the large public participation expected throughout the celebrations.

The society said arrangements had been made to ensure the comfort and convenience of visitors. Devotees from outside Delhi had started arriving from October 8, prompting the management to organise facilities for their short stay, including accommodation and other essential services.

Television camera teams have been requested to coordinate with the temple’s Print and Electronic Media Department before filming. The society has designated representatives to assist media personnel and facilitate coverage of the festival.

The Shardiya Navratri festival is observed with deep devotion across India, with devotees worshipping the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Temples witness special prayers, rituals and a surge in visitors during the period.
