New Delhi, 18th July: The forcible removal of activist Sonam Wangchuk from Delhi’s Jantar Mantar is expected to dominate the all-party meeting convened by the Centre on Sunday ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The meeting, involving floor leaders of major political parties, has been called to discuss the government’s legislative agenda and seek cooperation for the smooth functioning of both Houses during the session.

Opposition parties are expected to raise the issue of Wangchuk’s removal from the protest site after Delhi Police shifted him to a hospital, citing concerns over his deteriorating health following a prolonged hunger strike.

Another issue likely to figure prominently in the discussions is the alleged embezzlement of donations meant for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Samajwadi Party has already announced that it will raise the matter in Parliament and seek a discussion.

The government is also expected to brief political parties on key legislation proposed for the Monsoon Session. Among the new Bills listed are the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026, Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

The Centre is also expected to push pending legislation, including the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, while the proposed Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhisthan Bill, 2025 remains under parliamentary committee review.

According to the revised legislative agenda, the proposed 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill relating to the suspension of jailed public representatives has not been included for introduction during the upcoming session.

The Monsoon Session is expected to witness heated debates as the Opposition prepares to raise a range of political and public interest issues alongside the government’s legislative business.
