Helsinki, 17th July: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a series of meetings with leading Finnish technology and industrial companies to strengthen cooperation between India and Finland in advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, innovation and sustainable infrastructure.

During his visit, Goyal met the leadership of Nokia Corporation to discuss collaboration in next-generation telecommunications, 5G and 6G technologies, digital infrastructure, electronics manufacturing, research and development, and innovation.

The Minister also held talks with the VTT Technical Research Centre, where both sides explored opportunities to expand partnerships in research, clean technologies, industrial transformation, advanced materials, digitalisation and technology transfer.

In discussions with KONE Corporation, Goyal focused on cooperation in smart urban infrastructure, sustainable construction, elevator and escalator technologies, localisation and advanced manufacturing to support India’s growing infrastructure sector.

He also met the leadership of Kemppi Group to explore collaboration in advanced welding technologies, industrial machinery, clean industrial solutions, manufacturing innovation, EV charging infrastructure and investment opportunities in India.

The meetings highlighted India’s position as a trusted manufacturing and innovation partner and reinforced the growing economic partnership between India and Finland. The visit concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in technology, research, investment and sustainable manufacturing.
