President Murmu Confers Padma Awards 2026

Dharmendra, Dr. N. Rajam, Uday Kotak and Bhagat Singh Koshyari Among Top Honourees

New Delhi, 25th May: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday presented the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri Awards for the year 2026 during the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.

The Padma Awards, among India’s highest civilian honours, were conferred upon distinguished personalities for their contributions in fields including arts, literature, music, public affairs, education, social work, medicine and industry.

Among the Padma Vibhushan awardees were legendary actor Dharmendra (posthumous) and renowned violin maestro N. Rajam.

The Padma Bhushan honours were conferred on personalities including former Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, industrialist Uday Kotak, advertising veteran Piyush Pandey (posthumous), Shatavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra (posthumous) and Dr. Kallipatti Ramasamy Palaniswamy.

The Padma Shri recipients included actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, tabla maestro Kumar Bose, folk artist Taga Ram Bheel, environmentalist Hally War, social worker Janardan Bapurao Bothe, Swami Brahamdev, Devaki Amma G and Harmanpreet Kaur Bhullar among others.

The ceremony recognised achievers from diverse backgrounds and regions, reflecting the country’s rich cultural, intellectual and social contributions.
