New Delhi, 25th Aug: President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday extended greetings to citizens, particularly people from Kerala in India and abroad, on the eve of Onam.
In her message, the President described Onam as an occasion to express gratitude to nature for the arrival of the new harvest.
She said the festival celebrates Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and spirit of brotherhood while promoting the message of unity in diversity.
The President also highlighted traditional Onam activities, including boat races, folk dances, music and sports, saying they showcase the culture and values of Kerala.
Murmu prayed that the festival would bring happiness, peace, good health and prosperity to all and inspire citizens to contribute to the progress of the nation.
