Jaipur, 27th April: Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Monday strongly defended party colleague Sachin Pilot after BJP state in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal questioned Pilot’s political allegiance and regional roots.

Responding sharply, Gehlot asserted that Pilot remains fully committed to the Congress, declaring that “both of his legs are firmly planted in the Congress.”

He dismissed BJP’s accusations as politically motivated rhetoric and said Pilot had gained clarity from the internal political turbulence during Rajasthan’s 2020 leadership crisis.

Gehlot also referred to past attempts to destabilize the Congress government, suggesting that those involved in earlier defections would ultimately return.

Projecting party unity, Gehlot said he was confident that Pilot would remain within Congress and continue contributing to the party’s future.

The remarks came after BJP leader Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, during a public rally in Tonk, called Pilot an “imposter” and questioned his local legitimacy as MLA.

Agarwal’s comments have reignited political tensions in Rajasthan, where Congress and BJP continue to battle for narrative control ahead of future electoral contests.
