New Delhi, 10th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Vijay after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to Vijay for his new tenure and assured continued cooperation between the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government for the welfare of the people.
“Congratulations to Thiru C. Joseph Vijay on taking oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. Best wishes for his tenure ahead. The Central Government will keep working with the Tamil Nadu Government to improve the lives of people,” PM Modi said in the post.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to work jointly with the Tamil Nadu government on development and public welfare initiatives across the state.
Vijay, chief of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, took oath earlier in the day in Chennai, leading Tamil Nadu’s first non-DMK and non-AIADMK government in nearly six decades.
The actor-turned-politician formed the government after securing support from Congress, Left parties, VCK and IUML to cross the majority mark in the Assembly.
