Evian, 18th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Outreach Session on “Reviving a Balanced, Shared and Sustainable Economic Growth for All” at the G7 Summit in Evian, France, and emphasised that the true measure of growth lies not only in GDP or trade figures but in its impact on inclusion and the well-being of people.
Appreciating France’s focus on shared and sustainable growth during its G7 Presidency, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s inclusive development journey guided by the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”. He said the same philosophy has shaped India’s engagement with the global community.
PM Modi recalled India’s G20 Presidency theme, “One Earth, One Family, One Future”, and said a similar vision inspired the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), which aims to strengthen supply chains, promote investments, generate employment and encourage innovation.
Highlighting the impact of conflicts and crises on the Global South, the Prime Minister called for international solidarity and urged global financial institutions to create mechanisms that can help developing nations absorb economic shocks and build long-term resilience.
He also proposed the International Mobilisation Partnership for Accelerating Connectivity and Trade (IMPACT), which would combine G7 capital, India’s talent and the ownership of Global South nations to develop connectivity corridors across Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Island countries.
Reaffirming India’s commitment to a stable, trusted and prosperous global economy, PM Modi said India believes in integration, partnership and shared progress, a vision reflected in its pursuit of trade agreements with G7 members and several other countries.
