New Delhi, 6th July: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said technology-enabled bilingual management education can bridge the rural-urban divide and make quality education accessible to students across the country.

Virtually addressing the launch of an online bilingual Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme at Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, Goyal said the Hindi-English course would expand access to the quality and credibility of IIM education for talented students irrespective of their background.

The minister stressed the need to leverage India’s growing digital ecosystem and outlined four suggestions for the programme, including regular physical interactions, soft-skill development, experiential learning through visits to factories and industrial clusters, and adoption of global best practices.

He said online learning, supported by offline examinations, would ensure accountability while making management education accessible through smartphones, laptops and other digital devices.

Highlighting India’s economic opportunities, Goyal said new free trade agreements are giving a fresh boost to manufacturing and innovation, creating global opportunities for the country’s youth. He urged students to combine academic learning with practical experience to prepare for future leadership roles.
