PM Modi Offers Prayers to Maa Shailputri
On Navratri’s first day, the Prime Minister seeks blessings for peace, patience and self-confidence among citizens.

New Delhi, 11th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers to Maa Shailputri on Sunday, marking the beginning of Navratri with a message of peace, patience and self-confidence.
In his message on X, PM Modi paid his respects to Maa Shailputri, revered as the goddess of peace, and expressed hope that her divine blessings would inspire patience and strengthen self-confidence in every citizen.
“नवरात्रि के शुभारंभ पर शांति की अधिष्ठात्री मां शैलपुत्री के चरणों में कोटिश: नमन। उनकी दिव्य कृपा से सभी के मन में धैर्य और आत्मविश्वास का दीप प्रज्वलित हो। देशवासियों पर सदैव मां का आशीर्वाद बना रहे, यही कामना है,” the Prime Minister wrote.
PM Modi also shared a devotional hymn dedicated to the Goddess on the occasion.
Navratri begins with the worship of Maa Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga worshipped during the nine-day festival. Devotees across the country observe prayers and religious rituals to mark the auspicious beginning.
