New Delhi, 11th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to Nanaji Deshmukh on his birth anniversary, remembering him as a nation-builder who championed grassroots transformation, rural development and community participation.

In a message shared on X, Modi highlighted Deshmukh’s commitment to combining political conviction with constructive social action. He said Deshmukh’s life demonstrated that lasting change begins at the grassroots level.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing Deshmukh’s vision of a strong and self-reliant India.

“Paying homage to Nanaji Deshmukh on his birth anniversary. He is fondly remembered as a remarkable nation-builder who demonstrated in thought and action that true transformation begins at the grassroots. His life combined political conviction with constructive social action, devoting himself to rural development and community participation. We will leave no stone unturned in realising his vision for a strong and self-reliant India,” Modi wrote.

Deshmukh is remembered for his emphasis on village development and the active participation of local communities in social and economic progress. His approach placed grassroots initiatives at the centre of nation-building.
