Varanasi, 8th Oct: BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Thursday engaged directly with students and young people at ‘Yuva Samvad-2026’ at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, saying the voice, thinking and aspirations of the younger generation will play a decisive role in shaping India’s future.

Addressing the gathering, Nabin said youth should not be viewed merely through age-based categories or labels such as Alpha, Beta or Generation Z. What matters, he said, are their thoughts, abilities, aspirations and experiences.

He said young people do not form opinions simply by watching others and stressed the need for political leaders, governments and society to understand the questions emerging in young minds.

The interaction gave students an opportunity to raise a wide range of concerns, including employment, digital careers, internships, higher education, examinations, social media and the changing relationship between young people and the government.

One student asked about the growing preference among urban youth for digital media and content creation as a career and sought information about training and financial assistance available in Uttar Pradesh for content creators and digital professionals.

Other students raised questions about internships and career opportunities in Banaras, particularly how students could gain practical experience and employment opportunities while continuing their studies.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith second-year student Shishir Gupta asked how skills, innovation, research and initiative could be promoted alongside conventional degrees in higher education and sought information about government schemes supporting young people.

The students also brought up concerns over the influence of internet media, social media relationships and other digital trends on young people. They sought ways to guide the younger generation towards constructive and productive engagement.

Examination-related concerns also figured prominently. Student Shweta Mehrotra raised the issue of paper leaks and irregularities and asked what steps were being taken to protect students who work hard and prepare sincerely for competitive examinations.

Nabin listened to the questions and said the concerns of young people needed to be understood directly rather than through assumptions. He indicated that the issues raised during the interaction would be discussed in greater detail.

Speaking on the broader role of youth, Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary said young people were at the centre of nation-building. He stressed that youth power was closely linked with national power and urged students to draw inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda while connecting their ambitions with a larger sense of national responsibility.

Chaudhary highlighted initiatives related to housing, healthcare, connectivity, startups and employment, saying government policies were increasingly aimed at creating opportunities for young people not only as job seekers but also as job creators.

He also called upon students to participate in development beyond their individual careers and contribute their talent, ideas and energy towards building a prosperous, secure and developed India.

Nabin similarly urged young people to look beyond immediate career goals and take an active role in the larger project of nation-building. He said India’s transformation would depend significantly on the talent, hard work and ideas of its youth.

The programme ended with a call for collective participation in the Viksit Bharat vision, with the younger generation being positioned as a key force in carrying India’s development journey forward.
