Centre Clears 48 Key Appointments at Joint Secretary Level

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a major bureaucratic reshuffle, clearing 48 appointments at the Joint Secretary and equivalent levels across key ministries and departments.

Top-Level Appointments

Among the prominent appointments, IAS officer Kapil Meena has been named Managing Director of the National Horticulture Board, while Priyanka Das has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Jawahar Packirisamy has been appointed Chairman (JS level) of the Marine Products Exports Development Authority (MPEDA), while multiple officers have been inducted into the Department of Defence in key Joint Secretary roles.

Key Ministries See Changes

Several strategic ministries witnessed significant appointments:

  • Department of Economic Affairs gets Sakshi Mittal and Laya Madduri as Joint Secretaries
  • Ministry of Home Affairs sees appointments of Mahatme Sandeep Namdeo and Rakesh Rathi
  • Health & Family Welfare inducts Muthukumar Alagumuthu and Prabhakar
  • Labour & Employment and EPFO also receive new senior officers
PMO and Strategic Roles

In a notable move, IAS officer Hardik Satishchandra Shah has been appointed Private Secretary to the Prime Minister at Joint Secretary level, reflecting key administrative positioning within the Prime Minister’s Office.

Additionally, appointments have been made to NITI Aayog, National Mission for Clean Ganga, and National Land Monetization Corporation, indicating focus on policy and infrastructure sectors.
