Dimapur, 16th April: Veteran media strategist Dr Kumar Rakesh addressed students and faculty at National Institute of Technology Nagaland under the Viksit Bharat@2047 Lecture Series, speaking on the “Role of Youth, Education & Media for Viksit Bharat 2047” at the institute’s campus.

The National Institute of Technology Nagaland hosted the distinguished media leader and global editorial strategist on April 15 at its Dimapur campus, where he delivered an expert talk followed by an interactive session with students and teachers.

Focus on Youth and Media
Dr Kumar Rakesh, Editorial Chairman of the Global Governance News Group and Samagra Bharat Media Group, highlighted how the combined strength of youth energy, quality education and responsible media can accelerate India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Drawing from his experience across more than 50 countries, he stressed that journalism remains a crucial pillar of a vibrant democracy, stating that information is power and must be used responsibly to address challenges in a developing India.

He also praised initiatives of Narendra Modi and urged young people to actively participate in the Viksit Bharat mission, calling every youth a “brand ambassador” of the vision beyond caste, creed and religion.

Institutional Perspective
Director of NIT Nagaland, Prof. (Dr.) A. Elayaperumal, emphasised the need to connect technical education with media and communication, encouraging students to share innovations with the global community.

He also highlighted the importance of ethical use of social media for societal welfare.

Participation and Proceedings
The session, held in the institute’s video conference hall, witnessed participation from faculty, research scholars and students across B.Tech, M.Tech and M.Sc programmes. Discussions focused on bridging the gap between technical knowledge and social responsibility.

The programme was anchored by Senior Research Scholar Ankita, while Shubh Shree rendered the national song and Vande Mataram.

Prof Jyoti Borah delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the chief guest and participants for supporting the Viksit Bharat initiative.
