New Delhi, 26th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in New Delhi and reaffirmed the importance of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest and enhancing coordination for peace, stability and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation between India and Japan and stressed the importance of further deepening strategic ties.
Prime Minister Modi said the India-Japan partnership plays a vital role in promoting regional stability and global cooperation.
In a post on X, Modi said he was “delighted” to receive Motegi and reaffirmed the significance of the bilateral partnership in advancing peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
The meeting comes amid continued expansion of India-Japan cooperation across infrastructure, technology, connectivity, defence and economic sectors.
Officials said both countries remain committed to strengthening their long-standing strategic partnership in the shared interest of the region and the wider global community.
