Mumbai, 29th May: The Ministry of Ayush has welcomed the organisation of YOGOTSAV 2026, the sixth National Conclave of the Indian Yoga Association, being held at the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute in Maharashtra on May 29 and 30.
Held under the theme “Celebrating Diversity in Yoga”, the two-day event has brought together yoga acharyas, policymakers, researchers, educators, wellness experts and youth representatives from across the country to discuss the future of yoga in India and globally.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said yoga remains one of India’s greatest contributions to humanity.
“Yoga is a powerful force for harmony, collective well-being and human unity,” Jadhav said, adding that gatherings such as YOGOTSAV promote dialogue, collaboration and mutual respect among diverse yoga traditions.
The Ministry of Ayush said platforms like YOGOTSAV play an important role in strengthening cooperation among yoga institutions, educators, therapists and researchers while preserving the authenticity and philosophical depth of India’s yogic heritage.
Hosted at one of the world’s oldest yoga institutions, the conclave aims to encourage interaction between traditional yoga lineages and modern institutions engaged in yoga education and research.
A key attraction of the event is the experiential segment titled “Traditions in Practice – Demonstration by Living Lineages of Yoga”, featuring presentations on asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra, therapeutic yoga, mindfulness and other practices.
The demonstrations are being conducted by leading institutions and traditions including Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, S-VYASA University, The Yoga Institute, Art of Living Foundation and several others.
The Ministry observed that YOGOTSAV 2026 reflects the growing global importance of yoga as a pillar of preventive healthcare, holistic wellness and sustainable living.
Among those present at the event were Monalisa Dash, O. P. Tiwari, H. R. Nagendra, Hansaji Yogendra and Subodh Tiwari.
Officials said the conclave is expected to emerge as a major national platform for dialogue and collaboration, further strengthening India’s leadership in promoting yoga for global health and well-being.
