Evian, 17th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France, marking their third meeting in 2026 and reaffirming the strong India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The two leaders reviewed the progress in bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including technology, trade, investment, energy and defence. The discussions followed President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to India in January 2026 and Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UAE in May 2026.
They also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and respect for international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity to promote lasting peace, security and stability in the West Asia region.
Both leaders emphasised the importance of ensuring continued free, safe and unimpeded navigation, trade and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz.
Prime Minister Modi also invited President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend the BRICS Summit, which India will host later this year.
