PM Modi Embarks on Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand Tour

Prime Minister to Focus on Strategic Partnerships, Trade, Diaspora Engagement and Indo-Pacific Cooperation

New Delhi, 6th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed on a six-day visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding economic cooperation and advancing India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision.

Modi will visit Indonesia from July 6-8 at the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto. The visit will focus on enhancing the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, expanding bilateral cooperation and reinforcing civilisational ties. The Prime Minister will also interact with the Indian diaspora and visit the historic Prambanan Temple complex in Yogyakarta.

From Indonesia, Modi will travel to Australia, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Melbourne. Discussions are expected to cover defence, security, trade, investment, education, mobility, emerging technologies and sports, along with engagement with the Indian community.

The final leg of the visit will take the Prime Minister to New Zealand, where he will meet Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in Auckland. The two leaders are expected to discuss expanding trade, investment and commercial ties following the signing of the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. Modi will also address the Indian diaspora during the visit.

In his departure statement, the Prime Minister said the three-nation tour would further strengthen India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision and commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
