HM Amit Shah Visits KLE Medical Facility in Hubballi
New 1,200-bed hospital complex includes 250 MBBS seats and 300 beds reserved for the poor

Hubballi, 20th Sept: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Saturday visited the campus of JGMM Medical College and KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Hubballi, Karnataka.
Shah highlighted KLE’s more than 110-year contribution to education and healthcare, describing the new facility as a milestone in expanding healthcare services in Karnataka.
Constructed across approximately 50 acres at a cost of around ₹700 crore, the medical college and hospital complex has a built-up area of about 20 lakh square feet. It includes 250 MBBS seats and 1,200 beds, with 300 beds reserved for the poor.
The hospital will provide a range of basic specialties, including General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry, Dentistry and Physiotherapy.
It will also offer super-specialty services such as Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Organ Transplantation, Urology, Oncology and Endocrinology, along with modern laboratory facilities.
The complex will have 24-hour emergency and trauma care, a modern dialysis unit, digital X-ray facilities, high-resolution CT scanning and ultrasonography.
In a post on X, Shah said the new facility marked another step towards extending world-class healthcare services across Karnataka.
