New Delhi, 5th July: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday said the Centre has secured the future of nearly 65,000 erstwhile Ordnance Factory employees by redeploying them into regular government service following the restructuring of the Ordnance Factory Board.

The minister made the remarks during a meeting with a 19-member delegation of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and its affiliated employee organisations, which thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for employee-centric reforms.

The delegation appreciated the government’s decision to extend deemed deputation of former Ordnance Factory employees until retirement and subsequently absorb them into regular government service, describing it as a landmark measure that has ensured long-term service security.

Representatives also raised issues related to the Old Pension Scheme for compassionate appointments, career progression, cadre management and simplification of administrative procedures to reduce litigation and improve service delivery.

Jitendra Singh said the government remains committed to a consultative and responsive approach towards issues concerning employees and pensioners. He added that regular dialogue with stakeholders helps improve governance, simplify procedures and enhance administrative efficiency.

The minister said every genuine representation received from employee organisations is examined through the appropriate ministries and departments, reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to employee welfare and transparent governance.
