HM Amit Shah to Launch Key Cooperative Initiatives Tomorrow

Home Minister to Unveil Digital Reforms, Grain Storage Projects and e-PACS Rollout at Bharat Mandapam

New Delhi, 5th July: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of major cooperative sector initiatives during the fifth Foundation Day celebrations of the Ministry of Cooperation at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Monday.

The programme will witness the transfer of 135 grain storage godowns, inauguration of 85 godowns and foundation stone laying for 47 new godowns under the world’s largest grain storage scheme aimed at strengthening agricultural infrastructure.

Shah will also launch the NCD 3.0 platform, a geo-tag mobile application, the National Dairy Development Board’s Milk Supply Review Dashboard Portal, and unveil Sahakar CBS and Sahakar Sahyogi, two digital platforms developed by the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation for Urban Cooperative Banks.

A major highlight of the event will be the rollout of 50,000 e-PACS, marking a significant step towards digitising Primary Agricultural Credit Societies across the country.

The Home Minister will also perform the Bhoomi Pujan for Sahakar Van, a 64-acre cooperative afforestation project by Amul and the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India, besides laying the foundation for tissue culture facilities of the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The programme will also witness the inauguration of the Cooperative Milk Producers Organisation Multi-State Limited and the Gomay Cooperative Society Multi-State Limited, along with the signing of an MoU between BBSSL and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to strengthen India’s seed systems.

Shah will also release model bye-laws for dairy cooperative societies and a book highlighting the achievements of the Ministry of Cooperation over the past five years.

The event, to be attended by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other senior leaders, is being organised under the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” to strengthen the cooperative movement through technology, transparency and grassroots empowerment.
