PM Modi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Lay Foundation Stone for Bharat Mart in Dubai

Dubai, 14th Feb. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and the Ruler of Dubai, joined virtually to lay the foundation stone of Bharat Mart at Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone in Dubai on February 14, 2024.

The groundbreaking ceremony marked a significant milestone in the collaboration between India and the UAE, as DP World undertakes the construction of Bharat Mart.

Both leaders expressed confidence that Bharat Mart will serve as a catalyst for enhancing bilateral trade between India and the UAE, capitalizing on the strategic location and logistical capabilities of Jebel Ali Port.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the potential of Bharat Mart in facilitating the export endeavors of India’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

He underscored the platform’s ability to connect these sectors with international buyers across the Gulf, West Asia, Africa, and Eurasia, thereby boosting India’s exports.

The establishment of Bharat Mart reflects the commitment of both nations to fostering economic cooperation and promoting inclusive growth. The laying of the foundation stone signifies the commencement of a promising venture that is poised to contribute significantly to the economic partnership between India and the UAE.
