New Delhi, 29th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings to sports lovers on the occasion of National Sports Day, praising the dedication and determination of sportspersons and paying tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
In a post on X, Modi said the dedication, passion and determination of sportspersons make the entire nation proud.
The Prime Minister also paid homage to Major Dhyan Chand, whose contribution and brilliance in Indian hockey, he said, continue to inspire generations.
National Sports Day is observed to honour the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand and recognise the contribution of athletes and sportspersons to the country.
