Kavitha Demands ₹1 Crore Each for Telangana Martyrs’ Families

Hyderabad, 9th July: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday intensified her attack on her former party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), alleging that the ₹1,400 crore lying in the party’s bank accounts was accumulated through corrupt quid pro quo deals and should be distributed among the families of Telangana martyrs.

Addressing the media during her visit to Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Kavitha alleged that the party’s funds were collected through illegal arrangements with wealthy contractors.

“The ₹1,400 crore in the BRS party bank accounts came from Andhra contractors through quid pro quo. That is corrupt money and should be distributed to the families of Telangana martyrs, ₹1 crore each,” she said.

Rejecting speculation about returning to the BRS, Kavitha ruled out any reconciliation with the party.

“As long as I am alive, I will not join BRS. They are running a malicious campaign because they fear our regular public movements,” she said.

Kavitha also accused BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) of facilitating illegal quid pro quo deals to grant permissions to a construction company. She alleged that senior leader T. Harish Rao had also pursued financial interests, though she did not elaborate further.

Condemning abusive remarks against women on social media, Kavitha warned of strict action against those making vulgar comments.

Targeting both the BRS and the ruling Congress government, she alleged that while the BRS had left “windows of corruption” open, the Congress had “opened the entire door.” She also accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of running the administration with political vendetta instead of focusing on governance.

Kavitha said that if her party comes to power, it would review all land allotments made by both the previous BRS government and the present Congress government to Andhra-based contractors and reclaim any land found to have been allotted improperly. She also demanded that private educational institutions with more than 500 students procure milk only from the state-run Vijaya Dairy.
