New Delhi, 12th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed deep sadness over the passing of celebrated shooter Jaspal Rana, describing his demise as a profound loss to Indian sports.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Rana’s remarkable achievements in shooting and his enduring contribution to the development of young athletes across the country.

“Deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Jaspal Rana Ji. His passing is a profound loss to the world of Indian sports,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister noted that Rana brought immense glory to India through his extraordinary accomplishments in shooting and earned widespread admiration for his dedication to excellence.

Highlighting his role as a mentor, Modi said Jaspal Rana played a vital role in shaping and guiding young sportspersons with commitment and passion.

“He brought immense glory to the nation through his extraordinary achievements in shooting. Equally remarkable was his contribution as a mentor, shaping and guiding young athletes with great dedication,” the Prime Minister stated.
