New Delhi, 12th August :N Chandrasekaran has stepped down as Chairman of Tata Sons, though he will remain in office until his term expires in February 2027.He has stated he will not seek reappointment beyond his current tenure.The move comes amid ongoing governance disputes with Noel Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts, who opposed extending Chandrasekaran’s term, demanding conditions such as keeping Tata Sons unlisted.Boardroom conflicts over representation and group strategy also contributed to the resignation.Following the announcement, Tata Group’s major company shares, including TCS and Tata Steel, experienced a decline.
