New Delhi, 28th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid respectful tributes to legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar on her birth anniversary, recalling her contribution to Indian music and her role in promoting initiatives linked to the country’s progress.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said Lata Mangeshkar brought glory to India across the world through her exceptional singing talent.
“Lata Didi” not only enriched India with her melodious voice but also consistently encouraged initiatives associated with the country’s prosperity, Modi said.
The Prime Minister highlighted her enduring contribution to the Indian music world, stating that her work and legacy would continue to be remembered for generations.
“अपनी दिव्य गायन प्रतिभा से विश्व में देश का नाम रोशन करने वालीं आदरणीया लता दीदी को उनकी जयंती पर सादर नमन,” the Prime Minister said in his post.
He further noted that Mangeshkar had contributed to India’s cultural landscape through her music while extending her support to initiatives connected with national development.
Lata Mangeshkar, widely regarded as one of India’s most influential playback singers, had a career spanning several decades and recorded songs in numerous Indian languages. Her voice became closely associated with generations of Indian cinema and music.
