New Delhi, 24th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a bus fire tragedy in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased victim.
The injured will receive ₹50,000 each, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
In a post on X, the PMO quoted Prime Minister Modi as saying he was “distressed” to hear about the loss of lives in the fire tragedy and extended condolences to the families who lost their loved ones.
The Prime Minister also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the incident.
The bus fire occurred in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where rescue and relief operations were undertaken following the tragedy.
