Mumbai, 7th Nov: Sharad Pawar discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday after undergoing further medical evaluation and observation. The senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader had been shifted to the Mumbai hospital on Wednesday, hours after being discharged from Pune’s Ruby Hall Clinic.
Pawar was initially admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic on Tuesday after experiencing a persistent cough and chest discomfort. He was kept under medical observation and subsequently discharged. His family later decided to move him to Mumbai for additional medical assessment.
His daughter, Supriya Sule, confirmed his admission to Breach Candy Hospital in a post on X, saying that he was being admitted for further tests. She also thanked people for their concern and good wishes.
The first photograph of Pawar from Breach Candy Hospital surfaced on Wednesday. Senior Congress leader and MLA Vishwajeet Kadam shared the picture on his Instagram and Facebook accounts after visiting the veteran leader.
In his post, Kadam said he had enquired about Pawar’s health and wished him a speedy recovery, good health and a long life. He also expressed hope that the senior leader would soon recover fully and resume his active role in public life.
According to the information shared earlier, Pawar’s health parameters remained stable before his transfer from Pune to Mumbai. His admission to Breach Candy Hospital was primarily for further assessment and monitoring. The family had not reported any fresh health complications.
One of Maharashtra’s prominent political figures, Pawar founded the Nationalist Congress Party in 1999 after separating from the Congress. Following the party split in 2023, he continued to lead the faction known as the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar).
