New Delhi, 21st Sept: Seven judges from the Delhi district judiciary will take oath as judges of the Delhi High Court on Monday, taking the court’s working strength to 50 judges.
Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya will administer the oath to Nivedita Anil Sharma, Nisha Sahay Saxena, Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Aditi Choudhary, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bhardwaj at a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 10 am at the high court premises.
The seven appointees were serving as judicial officers in Delhi’s district judiciary before their elevation.
The Central government notified their appointments on September 19, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium.
The Delhi High Court has a sanctioned strength of 60 judges. With the seven appointments, its current strength will increase to 50, leaving 10 vacancies against the sanctioned strength.
