One Killed, Another Injured in Delhi Road Accident
Speeding i20 allegedly hits auto-rickshaw and rickshaw near Sukhdev Vihar Metro Station

New Delhi, 26th Sept: One person was killed and another seriously injured after a speeding white-coloured Hyundai i20 allegedly hit an auto-rickshaw and a rickshaw near Sukhdev Vihar Metro Station in southeast Delhi on Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred around 100 metres from the metro station at approximately 6:30 am. The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to police, the driver allegedly fled the spot after abandoning the car. Efforts are underway to identify and trace the driver.
A witness who runs a tea stall near the accident site said two cars were allegedly racing when the white i20 first rammed into an auto-rickshaw and then struck a rickshaw passing nearby.
The witness said the driver got out of the vehicle following the collision and fled in another vehicle along with his associates. Around three to four people were allegedly inside the car at the time of the incident.
Police reached the spot after the accident and began examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. The damaged vehicles were also inspected as part of the investigation.
CCTV footage from cameras installed in the area is being examined to identify the driver and establish the sequence of events leading to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
The incident comes days after a separate road accident in Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area in which three people were killed and three others injured.
According to police, a medium-sized dumper allegedly travelling from Noida collided with a stationary crane and an auto-rickshaw carrying workers involved in the Safe City Project.
The accident occurred around 3:20 am on Road No. 13 under the jurisdiction of Sarita Vihar Police Station while workers were carrying out CCTV installation work.
