New Delhi, 29th Sept: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced 10 candidates for the upcoming biennial elections to the Legislative Councils of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh from graduate and teacher constituencies.
The candidate list was approved by the BJP’s Central Election Committee, according to a press release issued by the party’s central office in New Delhi on September 29. The announcement covers four constituencies in Bihar and six in Uttar Pradesh.
Bihar candidates
For Bihar, the BJP has nominated Shri Naval Kishore Yadav from the Patna Teachers’ constituency and Dr N.K. Yadav from the Kosi Graduates’ constituency.
The party has fielded Shri Sarvesh Kumar from the Darbhanga Graduates’ constituency, while Shri Narendra Prasad Singh has been named its candidate from the Tirhut Teachers’ constituency.
The four names form the BJP’s list for the Bihar Legislative Council election 2026.
Six candidates announced for Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has announced candidates for six graduate and teacher constituencies.
Shri Kedar Nath Singh will contest from the Varanasi Graduates’ constituency, while Shri Dinesh Goel has been named from the Meerut Graduates’ constituency.
The party has nominated Shri Ashok Kumar Rathore from the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ constituency and Dr Pramod Mishra from the Varanasi Teachers’ constituency.
The remaining two candidates are Engineer Hari Kishore Tiwari from the Agra Teachers’ constituency and Shri Dhruv Tripathi from the Gorakhpur-Faizabad Teachers’ constituency.
