President Appoints 30 Judges, Additional Judges to 4 HCs
Appointments made to Madras, Calcutta, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh High Courts in consultation with Chief Justice of India

New Delhi, Aug 8: The President of India has appointed 30 judges and additional judges to the Madras, Calcutta, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh High Courts, in exercise of powers under the Constitution and in consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
According to an official notification issued by the Government of India, six advocates have been appointed as judges of the Madras High Court. They are Govindarajan Krishnaswamy, Rajnish Pathiyil, Ramesh Natarajan, G.K. Muthukumaar, Ramakrishnan Rajesh Vivekananthan and Raveekumar Sankaranarayanan.
The President has also appointed nine additional judges to the Madras High Court. They include advocates Dilip Kumar Nagarajan and Ellappan Manoharan, along with judicial officers Dr. P. Murugan, M.D. Sumathi, S. Alli, C. Thirumagal, Shanmugam Karthikeyan, Murugesan Baluchamy and N. Gunasekaran.
For the Calcutta High Court, Aryak Dutt, Atarup Banerjee, Sandip Kumar De, Partha Pratim Roy, Sudip Deb, Anuj Singh and Arjun Ray Mukherjee have been appointed as additional judges.
The President also approved the appointment of Rishad Medora, Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa, Hema Kulkarni, Subramanya Rangarao, Vivekananda Thadagavadi Prakash, Pramod Bakkeswara and Shanthi Bhushan Hombe Gowda as additional judges of the Karnataka High Court.
In addition, Amit Lahoti has been appointed as an additional judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The appointments have been made following the constitutional process in consultation with the Chief Justice of India and are aimed at strengthening judicial capacity across the respective High Courts.
